Easiest Rag Blanket ever!

If you are a first-time visitor to Oopsey Daisy, welcome!  We are celebrating Baby Week this week.  We have had 2 guest authors each day in addition to my own craft tutorials.  PLUS we have had a giveaway every day!  You can enter the giveaways by clicking the links at the top.  You can also check out the week's projects by looking at my sidebar and clicking the links there.  You won't want to miss a thing!  This week has been amazing!!

Now, on to another fun baby craft!!
I am so excited about today's tutorial!! I have wanted to make a rag blanket for a long, long time.  But I always think of blankets as a mega-project.  But this one is a piece of cake!  And fun to make!

A few months back, I went to my dear friend Ann's baby shower, and we had a lovely time cutting the fringe and chit-chatting together.  She took home her blanket that day for her baby, who was born just a few days later! This was a super-fun baby shower activity.

I studied her rag blanket and realized I could make my own fairly easily.  So I taught myself how to make one.  (As usual, this tutorial is based on "my" own trial-and-error method!)  And if I can do it, then you can, too!  Here are 7 easy steps to create your own simple rag blanket:

Piece of cake, right??  Here are a couple more shots....

This is the back side of the blanket:
Perfect for my new nephew!
And why not use up the scraps by making some cloth blocks???
Isn't that fringe a-DOR-able?!
