Blog Swap With A Glimpse Inside

Hip hip hooray, it's Friday!!  Today, I am thrilled to introduce you to my good friend, Allison from A Glimpse Inside.  She is incredibly creative, and sweet, too!!  She has a few pumpkins to throw in our Oopsey Daisy pumpkin patch.  Take it away, Allison

Hello! I am so excited to be blog swapping with Alison today! Alison is so sweet and fabulously talented and I am so happy she wanted to have me over for a "visit" in her world today.

First off, let me introduce myself. My name is also Allison (just with two L's) and I am from A Glimpse Inside. I am an Army wife with a creative side. I LOVE to craft, paint, sew, take photos, decorate, go thrifting and more!

The dear husband, Travis, and I are currently living in KY. We just moved here in May from our first duty station in VA. We won't be here long but we enjoy being close to our home state of TN. He is super supportive and encourages me to create anything that comes to my mind.

But enough about me... I bet you all just want me to get to the good stuff. :)

On my blog, I share pictures and stories of our life along with my crafts, recipes, thrift finds, decor, and more. I started blogging almost a year ago and it has become quite an addiction.
Here are some things you'll find.

We bought these crates at a Flea Market and they are now a table in my husband's "man cave."

On Tuesdays, I share yummy recipes.
This one is AWESOME and a must try- Dalmatian Cupcakes.

I love to share furniture or project transformations. It is always so fun to see what something will turn into when you are finished.

Coffee Table Upcycle

Mail Center Redo

But I mostly share crafts! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to craf t! I love to share the tutorials on how to make them too.

"Spooktacular" Subway Art

Fun Fall Garland using toilet paper and paper towel rolls

But today I want to share with you a tutorial on how to transform these ugly plastic pumpkins into gorgeous Glitter Pumpkins. It's SUPER easy!

YUCK!

Supplies:
- Plastic pumpkin(s) of any size
- Glitter (I love Martha Stewart Glitter)
- Glue (I also love to use Martha Stewart Glitter Glue)

How To:
I highly recommend to put something down in your work area to catch the glitter. They sell pans that are for this but I actually like to just use a cookie sheet with wax paper on it. That way when you are done with one color, you can just pick up the paper and put the extra right back into the glitter bottle.

Also, just be ready to be COVERED in glitter. You will see glitter all over you, your pets, floor, kids, husband- it just appears! lol

Cover the pumpkin with glue.
Work in small sections at a time especially if working with larger pumpkins, otherwise your glue will start to dry before you get the glitter on.

Cover with glitter and knock off the extra. I chose a shade of orange glitter.

Continue working your way around the pumpkin.
If you accidentally mess up a spot, no biggie, just cover with a little more glue and glitter.

Once you have the main pumpkin done, set aside and let dry.
Depending on how thick your glue is, it can take a few hours to even overnight for the glue to dry.

Once the pumpkins is dry, you can now add glitter to the stem.
I chose a dark brown glitter for the stem.
Knock of the extra, set aside to dry and your done!
You can even add a couple leaves to the top if you like for a little extra embellishment.

From ugly and drab to Gorgeous and Fab!

Add to your decor.

You can glitter larger pumpkins and set them together for a fun grouping.
This is a my set of pumpkins I created two years ago. They are perfect to use outside as well and shimmer so pretty in the sun. They last in the rain just fine, in fact, even after two years they only needed a little touch up.

I would absolutely LOVE for you all to come visit me in my neck of the woods and take a glimpse inside my world. Stop by, take a look around, stay awhile and maybe leave a comment or two. Who doesn't love those comments? I know I do!

Thank you Alison for having me over to share this tutorial and blog swapping with me!
You are a fabulous host! :)
