Blogiversary Celebration: Best of the Best

Today is my 1-year blogiversary!

{Sorry, no cliche giveaways or guests.  Just me here.}

I rarely show pictures of me on this blog, but I was inspired by the gorgeous Little Miss Momma who wrote up a whole post on how to take pictures of yourself!  I meant for this picture to be my practice shot, but my Little Man has refused to sleep this week (literally, I'm going on 3 hours of sleep) so I never got around to the final shoot.

But this picture is totally me:
Corny.  Can't really pose in front of a mirror without doing something dumb.
Comfty.  I do my hair every day.  (Almost.)  But at the end of the day, my hair is always up.
Cozy.  I love something warm and snuggly.  What can I say... I'm a Colorado girl?

It may sound cheesy, but I really and truly started writing this lil' blog for me and me alone.  It was my own type of crafting therapy!  With a husband who traveled constantly and a new baby, I needed an outlet.  A place to be me.  I wrote for a week or two before bashfully announcing the news on my family blog.  I was embarrassed.  I never in a million years dreamed that I would have something to share with others.

I can remember the thrills of my first feature.  My first follower.  My first comments. Blogging has its up's and down's, but you people have absolutely made my day every day.  I have plenty of days where I'm playing with matchbox cars all day and have no (zero, zilch, nada!) adult conversations from sun-up to sun-down.  But I have you all.  And that has meant the world to me.

I wanted my blogiversary to be a celebration.  For all of us.  Perhaps I am still feeling the end-of-the-year nostalgia, but I have been thinking a lot about the single Oopsey Daisy project that defines me the best.  I wanted to share my favorite project with you, and see YOUR favorite projects too.  This will be a celebration of the best of the best.

My favorite Oopsey Daisy project so far is the completion of the infamous quiet books. Why?

Because this project represents an elevation in my own personal craft standards.  This project represents perseverance and overcoming.  During a very difficult time in my life, I chipped away at this project little by little.  Finishing the quiet books was a feeling of triumph.  This was my personal best!!

So what is your favorite all-time blog project?  Please share!

What is your best of the best?
Grab a button and link up your one favorite project--the one that represents you the best.  I can't wait to see your personal best!! You have one week to link up!  And who knows... I may just show off your favorite creations!

  1. Happy blogiversary! Sometimes I seriously think you are my blogging twin. I started my blog a year ago last week and I'm only getting 3 or 4 hours of sleep at the moment too. Geez! Anyways, I've linked up my top 3. I hope you don't mind. The Busy Bag is my sons favorite, the DIY stove is my most viewed project and my latest countdown calendar is my favorite because I feel like its come such a far way from the very first version that I made and shared last year. I hope you get some sleep this weekend :)

  2. I think you're amazing Alison! I still remember when I first came across your blog, I was terrified to put my stuff out there, but you featured my little ol stuff, and it was enough to give me the confidence to move forward and put a little more of myself out there each and every day. I hope I don't sound too cheesy, but I mean it! Thanks for your inspiration:) And congrats on a successful year!

  3. That's awesome Alison! I just checked my google reader to see how many people are subscribed to your blog there and I was blown away! I read everyday, although I never comment on this blog. I think all of your projects are so cute. I wish I had 1/2 of the craftiness that you have!
