I was so thrilled to meet some new friends last week during Baby Week. If you are new to Oopsey Daisy, welcome!! I hope you'll enjoy my cozy little crafty corner. Don't be shy... I'd love to hear from you!
You know you're a craft nut when you plan your vacation time around buying or making crafts! When we visited Utah, I convinced my husband to stock up on tons of wood from the Wood Connection. I maximized all of my suitcase space with my new purchases! I have so many fun wood projects to work on now. But I am especially excited about my new set of calendar blocks. They are sitting happily in my tiny kitchen window.
So in case YOU are wondering what day it is today:
Or what day it was yesterday:
I bought this set of bare wood blocks and base from the Wood Connection craft store. But you could definitely find scraps from Home Depot, too. (I'm at the point now where my Home Depot men just give me scraps for free! Love it!)
I painted them all a nice espresso brown, and mod-podged my paper on--which I distressed of course. I cut the vinyl for the numbers and months on my Cricut. I wanted to be able to interchange my months, so I just put velcro on the wood base with matching velcro on the months. I store the other months in a bag near by.
Don't you just love the brown with the turquoise?? I am definitely NOT a morning person, but I somehow get pleasure out of waking up and changing my blocks every day!!
