Hi Oopsey Daisy readers, I'm Mique from 30days.
I live in the (mostly) sunny Los Angeles area with my husband and three cute kids. In addition to being a wife, momma and craft blogger, I co-own a handmade market, the Queen Bee Market in the San Diego area. Our next show is May 6-7th- come visit! Thank you so much Alison for letting me guest post!
Have you ever started a project with one thing in mind and changed it half way through? It happens to me almost every time. (please tell me I'm not alone) That's what happened with my project for today. I was determined to use products I had already.
Here's my idea for a spring art project:
Here's what I started with:
A rectangular canvas (you could use a piece of wood too)
scrapbook paper
Modge Podge
paint
paint brushes
cover button kit
scrap fabric
flower wood piece (found mine at Michael's)
letter stamps/vinyl/stickers

Paint your canvas whatever color you like.
Measure your canvas and cut 3 sheets of
scrapbook paper into sections accordingly.

After the paint is dry, using Modge Podge
adhere the paper to the canvas.
adhere the paper to the canvas.
Using coordinating paper and paint, stamp your word or add vinyl or stickers.
I used my old school Making Memories stamps that I love.
Adhere to the top of your canvas.
Paint the wooden flower with a coordinating color.
Use a glue gun to attach the flower.
(proof that I started with something else)
Using a cover button kit, make a covered button
with your coordinating scrap fabric.

Use glue gun to attach the covered button to the flower.
You can leave it like this.
Or attach ric-rac to the back for it to hang.
For this project I used thumb tacks to attach
(the canvas is thick and it's so easy to do).

But I've also used a staple gun too.
Thanks again for having me Alison!
A lovely idea for brightening up a room - great guest post! :D xx
